Kathmandu, Nearly two weeks after stepping down as Prime Minister, CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli made his first public appearance today.

Oli appeared at his new residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, where he met with party leaders and supporters. Despite being seen publicly, he did not make any political remarks during the gathering.

Supporters who came to visit were seen taking photos with Oli and spending time with him, though he remained silent throughout the interaction.

Oli had resigned from the premiership following the Gen-Z Uprising that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24 (early September). The protests had escalated quickly, turning violent on the second day, leading to significant human and material loss due to clashes, vandalism, and arson.

Following the collapse of the Oli-led government, a transitional government has been formed under the leadership of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki.

The House of Representatives has already been dissolved, and the new government has announced fresh elections for Falgun 21 (March 5).
