15-Year-Old Boy Abducted and Murdered in Siraha; Eight in Custody

Kathmandu, Police have taken eight individuals into custody in connection with the abduction and subsequent murder of a boy in Siraha.

According to a source from Siraha District Police, the arrested individuals include the boy’s relatives and neighbors. An investigation has been launched.

Since the boy’s body was found near the village, police suspect that someone from his family or neighborhood might be involved in the abduction and murder.

As the investigation is ongoing, police have not disclosed the identities of those arrested.

Abhishek Singh, a 15-year-old boy from Golbazar Municipality-13, Bhelha Dangaraha in Siraha, and son of Sanjay Singh, was found dead after being abducted.

According to Police Inspector Dharmesh Kumar Yadav, the spokesperson of Siraha District Police Office, the boy's body was discovered this morning in a mango orchard a short distance from his home.

According to the family, Abhishek went missing around 8 PM on Sunday. Despite searching throughout the night, he was not found.

On Monday morning, around 8 AM, a message was received on his mother’s phone from Abhishek’s mobile, stating that he had been abducted and a ransom was being demanded. The family reported the incident to the police that same day, said spokesperson Yadav.

The ransom message, sent in Hindi :

“Your person is with us. If you want him back safely, give us 5 crore rupees. If not, we will kill and dump him. If you try to inform the police, we’ll kill and dump him. We need the money by the 25th, or he will be killed. No one in your village should find out. For your information, we are from Bihar. Don’t worry, your person is safe — just meet our demand and we’ll return him.”
