Prime Minister Sushila Karki to Form Special Commission to Investigate Corruption

Kathmandu, Prime Minister Sushila Karki has stated that a separate commission will be formed to investigate corruption, emphasizing the need for a dedicated anti-corruption body. She said that the commission will conduct investigations and prepare the necessary groundwork to make it easier for the next government to take action.

"In cases where corruption and irregularities have occurred, even if we only manage to carry out investigations and take action, the government can still function effectively. But our goal is to pave the way forward" ,Prime Minister Karki said in an interview with BBC Nepali.

She also informed that a three-member commission will be formed to investigate the suppression of the Gen-Z movement. The Cabinet had already made a policy-level decision to form the commission yesterday.

Since the government's term is only six months, she mentioned in the exclusive interview with the BBC that the aim is to accomplish as much as possible within this period.
