Signs Emerge That Oli–Deuba Government Could Collapse!

Kathmandu, The KP Sharma Oli-led government is facing uncertainty after the Supreme Court sought details of the parties that supported him when he was appointed and when he won the vote of confidence on Shrawan 6.

Earlier, the Nagarik Unmukti Party (Naupa) and JSP had withdrawn their support, raising questions about whether the government is now in the minority. A writ petition was filed claiming the Prime Minister failed to seek a new vote of confidence within 30 days, as required by the Constitution.

The Supreme Court has asked Oli to clarify which parties backed him and also demanded the whip letters issued by JSP and Naupa at the time of the trust vote. The case is still under consideration, with Attorney General Ramesh Badal and government lawyers defending Oli in court.
