Kathmandu, The Cabinet has decided to hold elections for the vacant National Assembly seats on Magh 11 (January 25). The decision was made during the Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.
The meeting also approved amendments to Schedule 2 of the Federal Parliament Members’ Remuneration and Facilities Act 2073, which includes removing the posts in the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.
The government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, formed after the Gen-Z movement, has been mandated to hold the House of Representatives election on Falgun 21 (March 5). In preparation, the Election Commission had already started consultations with political parties from Ashoj 30 (October 17).
