kathmandu, A woman has been murdered in Gaurighat, Kathmandu. Bimala Tamang, a 40-year-old resident of Milan Chowk, Ward 7 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, was found dead inside her room on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, her husband, 35-year-old Tenjing Sherpa (also known as Chhiring) from Ward 6 of Khandbari Municipality, Sankhuwasabha, had been living with her in Kathmandu.
After receiving information about the incident, a police team from Gaushala Police Circle was deployed to the scene. Preliminary investigation suggests there was a dispute between the couple, during which Tenjing allegedly physically assaulted Bimala and also struck her with a stone.
Police have taken Tenjing into custody and further investigation into the case is ongoing.
