Kathmandu, After reaching a record high on Thursday, gold prices fell sharply on Friday, dropping by Rs. 4,200 per tola. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, gold was traded at Rs. 235,000 per tola today.

On the previous day, Thursday, gold had reached Rs. 239,200 per tola, marking an all-time high. However, due to a decline in the international market, prices fell in the Nepali market as well. Gold, which had reached USD 4,040 per ounce internationally, dropped to below USD 4,000 today.

Silver, on the other hand, saw a slight increase. It was traded at Rs. 3,085 per tola today, up from Rs. 3,025 per tola on Thursday — a Rs. 60 increase.

Experts suggest that global economic instability, inflation concerns, and fluctuations in the US dollar have directly influenced the volatility in gold and silver prices.
