Kathmandu, The upward trend in gold prices continues in Kathmandu’s bullion market, reaching a new record high today. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price of fine (hallmarked) gold has surged to NPR 239,199 per tola, marking the highest rate ever recorded in the Nepali market.

Just yesterday, the price of hallmarked gold was NPR 237,998 per tola. Compared to that, today’s rate reflects an increase of NPR 1,201.

In contrast, silver prices have declined. From NPR 2,955 per tola on Wednesday, silver has dropped to NPR 2,593 per tola today — a decrease of NPR 362.

Market analysts attribute the surge in gold prices to international factors such as inflation concerns, geopolitical tensions, and fluctuations in the US dollar. These global dynamics are directly influencing local bullion prices.
